SiTime Elite 2 Super-TCXO Cuts AI Cluster Sync to Sub‑1ns, Boosts GPU Utilization

Release date:2026-05-19 Number of clicks:106

SiTime has launched the Elite 2 Super-TCXO MEMS temperature‑compensated oscillator, achieving <1ns time synchronization accuracy for AI compute clusters – a 100x improvement over current 1µs standards required by large data centers.

Key specs: frequency temperature slope ±2 ppb/°C, Allan deviation 6×10⁻¹², frequency stability ±50 ppb across -40°C to 105°C. Package size 3.2×2.5mm, power just 22mW. In contrast, competing TCXOs suffer 90–450ns sync errors.

The device uses SiTime’s DualMEMS architecture with integrated temperature sensing on the MEMS resonator, enabling instant compensation in thermally volatile server environments (now often 85°C–105°C, with 5–20°C rapid swings).

Target applications: smart NICs for network traffic sync, and compute motherboards adjacent to CPU sockets, delivering timing stability for GPUs. Samples are available now, with mass production expected in Q3 2026.

ICgoodFind: Sub‑nanosecond sync and high‑temperature stability make the Elite 2 a key enabler for squeezing maximum utilization from AI GPU clusters.
